Odlazeći predstavnik OEBS (OSCE) za slobodu medija, Miklos Haraszti - bivši mađarski disident, pisac i novinar, dao je intervju za sajt ove organizacije, gde govori o svom radu tokom prethodnih šest godina, položaju novinara u tzv. post-Sovjetskom bloku, najvećim izazovima i uspesima.
Između ostalog govori i o tome kako vidi medijsku situaciju u ovom regionu:
Over the last 10 years there has been a deterioration. But I think that is because we had a wonderful 10 years before that, when the post-Soviet states embraced the universal right to free expression and produced a very vibrant civil society, and to some extent there has been a 'counter-reformation' against that. But the fact that civil society has climbed high enough to require governments to fight such a battle is encouraging.
Kakve smo sreće, naša - ne samo medijska - tranzicija, počela je baš u tom mračnijem periodu.
